Perfect Finds: Nail Polish

For some one who finds it absolutely pertinent to have perfectly polish finger nails at all times, finding a new, beautiful shade can just make my day! While strolling through the streets of NY, I came across a little Chinese mom-and-pop store and stumbled upon the most perfect nail paints! Very often, while shopping, I ask myself "Is this me? While wearing this, will I be portrayed the way I want to." And oh my heavens yes! If I were a nail paint, I would be one of these two shades! These colors are the 'essence' of moi.

I have never heard of b.s.n. Plus nail paint before nor have I come across it in any other store. Nevertheless, these shades are to die! On the left: Pink Lady. But to be honest, it is peach. The most perfect, feminine, pastel peach. And on the right: Romance. Could a name be any more perfect?? It's a beautiful blush color. A divine shade of rose that is far from the bubble gum childish colors and the tacky hot/bright pink shades.

As I go along in life, I tend to make my own rules, or guidelines to live by. One of those happens to be wearing elegant appropriate nail polish at all times. If a sudden event were to pop up tomorrow night, leaving no time for a manicure, what is there to do? I for one do not want to be caught at a sophisticated affair with neon nails. No thanks!

Favorite Jewerly

How a lady accessorizes herself tells about her. Too much is tacky and sloppy but too little is plain and boring. When I see a woman not wearing jewelry I assume she was in a rush and forgot to put it on (Shameful!).... Or maybe she doesn't have a nice man to buy her any. (The only exception to this is allergies. I have a cousin who is severely allergic to ALL types of finishes, gold, platinum, silver, metals. I do feel awful for her! To go her whole life without wearing a pair of pearls, shame

I went through my own collection to pick out pieces that I believe are essential pieces to any classy woman's wardrobe.

Dainty Necklaces For an everyday pieces, feminine simple pendants on a thin chain are perfect accents. I personally love bows for a girly touch, but there are plenty of adorable charms out there! Get something that suits your personality but also matches the over all feeling of your wardrobe so you can wear it with anything. Top: Silver bow necklace is from Piercing Pagoda. Bottom: Bow Pearl charm is from a boutique in Miami.

Monogram pieces

I love all things monogrammed! Items with your name or initials are completely personal and with the exception of the few people you may know with the same initials, each piece is unique to you. My silver monogram necklace is my absolute FAVORITE item in my entire wardrobe. Top: Delicate Raymond monogram disc necklace. Bottom: Personalized monogram necklace from WOW Imports.com

Pearl Strands It goes without saying that every girl needs her strands of pearls. These are two I wear most often. The pearls on the right belonged to my mother. They are so near and dear to my heart! The strand on the left is a cultured one I wear to the important but 'not-so-important' events.

Pearl Studs
Duh! This one goes without saying! I wear them EVERY SINGLE DAY. These are my three most worn pairs. The grapefruit peachy/pink ones on the right tend to be in my ears the most!

No camera= No bueno

With my computer not yet fixed, blog posts are confined to photos found only on the internet. I am so dissappointed about this because I have come across a couple wonderful finds I know all of y'all lovely ladies would love. Until then, Google images it is.

My husband leaves in about two weeks. He will be gone FIVE long months. He has been helping me around the apartment with little fix-it pojects. We have also repainted and redecorated. The previous tenants had the walls painted yellow and puke green. I decided to paint it all one color- A Benjamin Moore paint called Romance.

It took some convincing with Hubby, but the color is an off white with a rosey/pink undertone. It looks just offwhite to the plain eye unless you know it is supposed to be pink.

I promise to post photos when I can.

Classic Beauty: Marilyn Monroe

Classic Beauty blog posts will be a recurring theme. I will choose ladies who I find to be classic beauties. Starting with Miss Marilyn Monroe.

Her sensual beauty had men drooling and women envious. She made sexy look classy.... Even if she may have been a husband stealing floozy who flaunted her affair in front of the nation. (Sorry darlings, but miss Jackie O will trump Monroe any day in my mind). Even so, she was indeed a classic beauty.

Update*

I need to apologize to y'all because when it comes to consistent blogging, I am indeed a failure. Let me indulge myself for a moment in my 'excuses'. If you follow me in twitter you already know my computer broke right before leaving for vacation. I DID take daily outfits, however my husband's computer is not compatible with my camera. (His comp. is ancient, but with his "If it ain't broke..." mentality, he refuses to buy a new one) Also, hubby leaves in 3.5 weeks for Officer/MP training for FIVE MONTHS. We have been spending time together and running errands, and setting things up for when he is gone.

I am so sorry y'all, truly. When M does leave it will free up time, and also give me an outlet to write, so expect posts regularly in the coming weeks.
